9 INDUSTRY CLUSTERS OF THE AGGLOMERATION
AVIATION
This is the primary cluster in the master-plan. It is anchored by the 3.5km runway and the terminal building. In addition to these there is hangar space, cargo terminals, fuel farm, civil aviation and private aviation space and 4,000 carparking spaces.
LOGISTICS
Logistics and distribution is an essential part of the function of the entire plan. The central location of the development makes it an ideal location for centralised services. This cluster includes Logistics, distribution, warehousing and integrated service suppliers.
BIOPHARMA MED TECH
The IDA have designated the Midlands as a regional centre for Bio Pharma industries. 100 acres of development sites will be availabe for Irish and Foreign industries working within this industry.
EDUCATION HUB
This aim of this cluster is to develop advanced education programs targeted specifically at the industry clusters within the masterplan area. In conjunction with AIT these sites will house training and teaching facilities that will collaborate with industry to develop industry ready graduates
GREEN IFSC
The entire site will operate as a Smart Micro Grid. This will be anchored by Glanpower renewable energy. The saving in Carbon emissions will be traded with the airlines creating a Green Energy Marketand anincentive for both airlines and green technology companies to locate at the site.
HOTEL LEISURE & CONFERENCE CENTRE
Anchored by a leading hotel brand the site will cater for 900 bed spaces with facilities to accommodate business and leisure customers. Conference and Exhibition centres will accommodate capacities up to 10,000 people and house a permenant Irish trade Export exhibtion of the Best of Irish Produce.
ICT DATA INDUSTRIES
Anchored by Qucomhaps as a specialist communications company pioneering HAPS technology. There will also be facilities for Data storage and back office ICT services. All availing of the renewable heat from the district heating system.

ADVANCED MANUFACTURING
Advanced manufacturing industries across the globe benefit from close proximity to airports. This cluster will accommodate manufacturing and engineering of components for the global market in specialist industries such as agriculture, renewable energy and aviation.
RESIDENTIAL
300 acres of land for residential development will be operated on a community land trust basis with sites made available on a long-term ground rent basis. This reduces to cost of housing considerably making the development more sustainable. There will be a broad mix of housing types to sit the demand. Sites will be licenced to developers to design and build units ona site by site basis.
